Helping Anxious Kids Who Hate Losing

The board game goes flying, the game control gets thrown or the ball gets kicked out of the yard. That’s how many anxious kids cope with losing, it’s just simply too much to handle.

Many anxious kids hate losing. In this Youtube video I talk to kids who have a hard time losing and give them some ideas on how to work through it.

It’s not surprising that some anxious kids hate losing. Anxious kids can hold themselves to a higher standard than others. They must give their best, do their best and be the best all of the time.

Unfortunately, this means that they don’t benefit as much from the fun and joy playing with others often brings.

In this week’s Ask the Child Therapist kid/teen Youtube video, I am talking directly to kids about the struggles around losing and what they can do to handle these tough feelings.
