When Teaching Kids to Face Fears Don’t Do This
Often we think the goal in helping kids with their fears is to make them less fearful. Yes, it’s nice when they are no longer fearful, but is that the goal?
No.
We want to teach our kids how to recognize their fear. All too often kids deny their fears, pushing them so far down they impact the stomach and other bodily functions.
We want to teach our kids how to acknowledge their fear and still move towards it. Yes, you can be fearful and brave at the same time.
In this week’s Youtube video, I talk to kids and teens about how denying their fear actually grows their fears bigger. We also talk about how they can be fearful and brave at the same time.
