My son is a wiggle worm. The only time he isn’t bouncing, rocking or jumping is when he is asleep. He sits on top of our sofa, not on it. I have bought him a few children’s bean bag chairs, but they always wind up in our closet.

So when I was given the opportunity to review a Brentwood Home Children’s bean bag chair (what they call a Venice Lounger) I was all over it. In my house, we know bean bags. We have a flat one in my son’s room. We have a rejected one in my hall closet. Would this Lounger be any different?

I opened the bean bag chair after my kids went to sleep. It comes vacuum sealed so I inserted the stuffing and gave it the night to regain its shape.

When I woke up, my son was already curled up in the bean bag. He remained there for most of the morning. It was the calmest I have ever seen his body.

Later that day my son asked why we got a new bean bag. I told him that I was going to write about it and asked him what I should say.

He told me, “You should write that it is very cozy. Also, say that it is very soft.” He paused and said, “Oh, the only bad thing is…it will make you fight with your sister.” And he was right, they had been fighting over who gets to sit in that thing all day.

I would add that the bean bag regains it’s shape after you sit on it. It is made out of nontoxic polyurethane and gel memory foam and I like the way it bounces back after the kids get up. Also, it is significantly heavier than any bean bag I have ever owned, giving it much more support.
