Helping Kids Who Get Anxious Watching the News

The news can be overwhelming to many of us, but if you are a kid with anxiety or OCD it can all be too much. Being flooded with images and stories of doom and gloom can impact your child’s level of anxiety or OCD.

This week’s Youtube video I talk to teens about why the news can be so overwhelming and stressful for people with anxiety or OCD

But what if you have a teen who controls what they watch and when they watch it? We can’t exactly cocoon our older kids from what they watch. Especially when they literally have the news at their fingertips.

Instead of putting our teens in a bubble they will fight to get out of, we have to teach them how to have some self preservation and know when and how to stop news anxiety.
